What is Included?

Backcountry touring skills; route planning and digital navigation, skinning techniques, optimization of backpack gear, VHF radion communication, snow group travel, and more.

Avalanche Education: AAA Rescue module, Avalanche Science Bitacora, Avalanche Science Online content, Avalanche Science Navigation, and Snow Science Modules, as well as AIARE 1 Student Manual, AIARE field book, and AIARE online content.

Four avalanche certifications; AAA Level 1, AIARE1, AAA Rescue, AIARE-RESCUE.

Ground transportation while at Akureyri and day trips to the Troll Peninsula.

Ski lift passes for Skardsdalur ski area (Siglufjord)

Seven nights of lodging at Fljotin Lodge, Northern Iceland starting the night of Friday, April 5th.

Ski guiding during ski tours at the "Troll Peninsula".

Luxury Package: All meals included, 7 nights of lodging is in Fljotin Lodge, ground transportation. Four avalanche certifications.

Standard Package: Includes 7 nights of lodging is in Fljotin Lodge, and ground transportation. Four avalanche certifications.

 

Not Included:

Spirits, airline tickets to Iceland, nor transportation to the trip initiation location at Akureyri, Iceland.

Ski touring or split-boarding equipment are not included.


      Prerequisite:

      Able to ski tour (on skis or split-board).

      Own avalanche rescue equipment; metal shovel, 3-meter probe, 3 or 4 antenna transceiver.

      Must have a medium size backpack to carry avalanche rescue equipment, day lunch, water, hot drink, ski touring skins, and other personal gear. We suggest a backpack with a minimum size of 32 liters.
